We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Automotive Estimator to join our team. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, preparing accurate estimates, and coordinating repairs efficiently. You will work closely with customers and technicians to ensure a smooth and organized process from initial assessment through to final delivery. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Estimating & Customer Service
- Greet walk-in customers and assess vehicle damage
- Prepare accurate repair estimates using the Mitchell estimating system
- Inspect vehicles and document damage thoroughly with notes and photos
- Take clear photos of vehicle damage for estimates and documentation
- Guide customers through the repair process and set clear expectations
- Communicate timelines, repairs, and next steps clearly
- Answer phone calls and respond to customer inquiries professionally
- Work with insurance providers for approvals and supplements when required
- Schedule and book repair appointments
Shop Coordination
- Work closely with technicians to ensure accurate repair plans
- Monitor jobs in progress and update estimates as needed
- Order and verify parts required for repairs
Administrative & Systems
- Open and close repair orders (ROs) accurately
- Prepare final billing and ensure all charges are complete and correct
- Maintain accurate job files, estimates, photos, and documentation
- Enter and update estimates, repair details, and job information in estimating and shop management systems
- Follow up on approvals, parts, and repair progress
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to assess vehicle damage
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable handling phone calls and customer interactions
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience in estimating, autobody, or automotive industry is an asset (not required)
