Zilka Property Solutions is seeking an experienced Handyman / Property Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. We provide maintenance, repairs, renovations, and restoration services for residential and commercial properties throughout the Edmonton area.
We are looking for a reliable, skilled individual who takes pride in quality workmanship and can work independently while maintaining professional communication with clients, tenants, and property managers.
Responsibilities:
- General property maintenance and repairs
- Drywall repairs, patching, mudding, and painting
- Flooring repairs and installations
- Basic plumbing repairs (faucets, toilets, sinks, shut-off valves)
- Basic electrical work (switches, plugs, light fixtures)
- Door, window, and hardware repairs
- Cabinet and trim installation
- Fence, siding, and exterior repairs
- Turnover and move-out maintenance work
- Complete deficiency lists and punch-list items
- Maintain clean and safe job sites
- Communicate job progress with management
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of handyman, maintenance, renovation, or construction experience
- Strong knowledge of residential building systems
- Ability to work independently and solve problems on-site
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation
- Own basic hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with property management companies
- Experience in drywall, painting, flooring, and finishing carpentry
- Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge
- Construction safety certifications considered an asset
