Overview
School Age Educators are fun loving, flexible, and capable individuals who will implement safe, engaging, and inclusive child care programs. All aspects of the School Age positions will be performed while working within the framework of the vision, mission and program statements and the policies and procedures of DCCCCI, the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), 2014, the Child Care Centre Licensing Manual and How Does Learning Happen?
Responsibilities
- Responsible for direct supervision of children enrolled in their program
- Work as part of a team and share responsibilities with others to develop and deliver programming
- Set up activities in a way which interests the children and provide provocation
- Participate in indoor and outdoor activities with the children
- Model appropriate strategies to assist children in resolving conflicts
- Represent Dutton Child Care Centre in a professional manner to the families and the community
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the School Staff
Qualifications
- OSSD minimum requirement, preference will be given to RECE, Child and Youth Care Diploma, Recreation and Leisure Diploma, and those pursuing education in the above fields.
- Two years related experience working with children ages 0-12 preferred
- Must hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate Level C or be willing to complete this within two months of employment
- Must have satisfactory Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Check from within six months or be willing to complete this upon employment
- Up to date childhood immunizations
