Install, inspect, maintain, and repair industrial and commercial refrigeration systems (ammonia and Freon-based systems).
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, rooftop units, and dehumidifiers.
Troubleshoot refrigeration system issues such as pressure imbalances, electrical faults, and component failures.
Monitor and adjust building automation systems (BAS) to maintain optimal climate conditions.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and part replacements.
Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines (including ODP and refrigerant handling).
Perform leak detection, refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and testing.
Assist in energy efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members during equipment breakdowns or shutdowns.
Participate in regular safety meetings, training, and emergency response protocols.
Valid 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic License (Ontario).
Minimum [3+] years of industrial experience (food manufacturing, pharmaceutical, chemical, etc., preferred).
Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems (if applicable).
Experience with PLCs and automated control systems is an asset.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with HVAC-related codes and safety standards (TSSA, CSA, ASHRAE, etc.).
Physically able to lift, climb, bend, and work in various environmental conditions (cold rooms, rooftops, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Willingness to work 12-hour continental shifts, including nights and weekends.
