Overview
We are seeking a skilled and versatile General Handyman/woman to join our facilities maintenance team. This role involves performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks across our manufacturing and facility operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and welding skills, along with leadership qualities to supervise and coordinate maintenance activities. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CMMS systems, and reading schematics is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our facilities while demonstrating excellent customer service and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facility infrastructure
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues efficiently
- Conduct welding repairs and fabrications as needed
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to diagnose problems
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for troubleshooting and system adjustments
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule future tasks
- Supervise or assist in the training of junior staff or contractors during maintenance projects
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and facility protocols during all maintenance activities
- Coordinate with other departments to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or manufacturing environments with hands-on mechanical knowledge
- Strong electrical experience including wiring, troubleshooting circuits, and working with schematics
- Welding skills certification or demonstrated proficiency in welding techniques
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation systems
- Experience using CMMS software for work order management
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance best practices and safety regulations
- Supervising experience is preferred, demonstrating leadership capabilities in managing maintenance teams or projects
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to read technical schematics effectively
- Strong communication skills in English for clear documentation and collaboration
- Customer service orientation to address internal client needs professionally
