About the role
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Cashier / Stock Associate to join our small team on a part-time basis. You'll be at the register providing great customer service, and also responsible for keeping the store stocked, organized, and presentable. We're looking for someone with strong attention to detail who takes initiative and stays productive throughout their shift.
Key responsibilities
- Operate the cash register accurately and provide friendly, helpful customer service
- Learn our product range over time so you can answer basic customer questions and make suggestions
- Monitor stockroom inventory and proactively restock shelves and displays throughout the shift
- Rotate stock using FIFO practices and monitor product dates to help minimize waste
- Keep shelves, displays, and the stockroom clean, organized, and easy to navigate
- Complete nightly closing duties, including cleaning and tidying the store and stockroom
- Assist with basic inventory tracking and communicate stock needs to management
- Take initiative to identify tasks that need attention throughout the shift
What we're looking for
- Strong attention to detail — you notice what's out of place, expiring, or missing, and you act on it
- Self-starter who takes initiative and stays busy without needing constant direction or reminders
- Comfortable learning new product information and retaining day-to-day routines and tasks
- Perform light food prep and packaging tasks as needed
- Good customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner
- Reliable and consistent, especially with closing/end-of-shift responsibilities
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and stock product, and stand for extended periods
- Prior retail, grocery, or cashier experience is an asset but not required
Working conditions
- Part-time position; hours and days will vary based on business needs and store schedule
- Weekend availability is required
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stock product, and stand for extended periods
Pay: From $17.60 per hour
