ABOUT US:
Onion Lake Family Services is an organization that strengthens family units by offering support and resources to parents and caregivers, aiming for healthy homes. Our short-term, strength based services focus on empowering families for long term improvement and skill building.
The Custodian is responsible for performing custodial duties to ensure that the OLFS building is maintained I in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. The Custodian will be responsible for cleaning areas by washing furnishings, floors and equipment with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to ensure a clean environment throughout the OLFS building.
- Clean all rooms ensuring proper disinfectant procedures are followed.
- Ensure that the RTM and main facility doors and gates are unlocked before 8:30 a.m.
- Clean common areas including waiting rooms, bathrooms, lobbies, office areas, kitchens, family room, etc.
- Keep a daily log/checklist of cleaning activities.
- Wash towels, dish towels, tea towels, etc.
- Remove trash ensuring and disposed of properly.
- Wash and buff floors with floor polisher when needed.
- Vacuum all carpeted areas, and dust all furniture and fixtures
- Replenish toilet tissue and soap as needed.
- Clean, wash and disinfect drinking coolers.
- Report damages and acts of vandalism
- Secure storage areas
- Maintain adequate cleaning supplies and order when necessary.
- Ensure cleaning materials and supplies are stored in a safe and orderly manner.
- Maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials and supplies.
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning materials and supplies.
- Maintain a daily log of cleaning schedule completed and posted in visible areas.
- Make note and report of the need for equipment repairs.
- Maintain and have a working knowledge of environmental safeguards.
- Help prepare and set up rooms for meetings, parties, or various other activities and clean up after event.
- Any other duties assigned that are complimentary to the role.
Qualifications
· A high school diploma or equivalent
· 1+ years experience a plus
· Safety tickets (WHMIS, First Aid).
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Valid Class 5 driver’s license with acceptable abstract
· Clear criminal record
· Highly motivated and able to work independently.
· Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
· Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instruction orally and in writing.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (eg. Excel, Word, etc.) and email

HAZARD ASSOCIATED WITH JOB
· 24/7 availability may be required.
· Physical ability to lift up to 75lb
· Travel to the site, and off-site locations will be required.
· Safety equipment will be required, e.g., steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
· Overtime as required.
