Job Description: NORAM Engineering and Constructors Ltd. (NORAM) is looking for a skilled and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Junior / Intermediate Process Engineer. The successful candidate will have a strong background in process design and will work with our technical experts on developing new electrolysis technologies.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to determine project requirements, goals and constraints.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including process, mechanical, and electrical engineers, designers and project managers, to execute and complete project deliverables.
· Create process flow diagrams and perform mass and energy balances.
· Size, design and specify equipment including heat exchangers, pump hydraulics, columns, vessels, instrumentation, piping specialty items and others.
· Develop P&ID’s and control strategy documents.
· Perform pressure relief studies according to applicable API or EN codes.
· Participate in hazard studies such as HazOp’s and LOPA’s.
· Write detailed process operating guidelines.
· Assist in site commissioning activities.
· Coordinate with external vendors to specify necessary equipment, materials and/or services.
The candidate must be results oriented and motivated to tackle new engineering challenges.
Desired Skills & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
· 3+ years of experience as a process engineer; ideally in the chemical or sulphuric acid industries.
· Candidate must be registered, or eligible to register, as P.Eng. with EGBC.
· Knowledge of electrochemical processing plant equipment, safety practices, and basic chemistry principles would be an asset.
· Experience with engineering programs such as Aspen Plus, Hysis, Heat Exchanger Design, AutoCAD.
· Ability to develop PFD’s and P&ID’s and perform mass and energy balances.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions in complex situations.
· Ability to work as a team independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
· Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Excellent time management, communication and people skills.
