Location: Canada-based | Field-based Employment Type: Full-time or Seasonal Full-time (Spring–Fall), with growth potential About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on Environmental Drone Operator to support and execute UAV-based environmental, agricultural, municipal, and commercial operations. This role is for someone who wants to fly real missions, work outdoors, and build serious technical capability—not sell drones or sit behind a desk. You’ll operate drones under established procedures, support environmental monitoring and treatment programs, and grow into more advanced missions as your skills and certifications develop. This is an execution-focused role, designed to scale with the business and grow into senior technical opportunities over time. What You’ll Do Drone Operations & Field Work Operate UAVs for approved missions such as: Lagoon and pond treatment support Environmental monitoring and inspections Mapping, surveying, and data collection Municipal and commercial site work Perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks Execute mission plans exactly as assigned Capture and log flight data, imagery, and outcomes Environmental Application Support (if licensed) Assist with drone-based spraying or spreading where permitted Follow all product labels, safety rules, and environmental regulations Maintain accurate application records Note: Licensed operators may lead applications; others assist only. Equipment Care & Readiness Inspect and maintain UAVs, batteries, payloads, and accessories Keep equipment clean, charged, and mission-ready Report issues immediately—no “fly anyway” decisions Safety, Compliance & Documentation Follow Transport Canada rules and internal SOPs Maintain complete flight logs and records Operate professionally on municipal, industrial, and rural sites Support incident reporting when required Training & Skill Development Receive structured training from senior operators Progress toward independent mission execution Learn advanced workflows (mapping, spraying, inspections) Support demos and training sessions as needed This role is intentionally designed to grow with you Reporting & Workflow Technical supervision: Director of Technical Operations Task intake, scheduling & priorities: Control Tower All work is assigned through structured systems (no verbal-only instructions) Required Qualifications Must Have Transport Canada Basic or Advanced Drone Pilot Certificate Valid driver’s license Comfortable working outdoors in variable conditions Strong attention to detail and safety Ability to follow SOPs exactly Nice to Have Environmental, agricultural, or municipal experience DJI Enterprise or Agras platform familiarity Mapping or spraying payload experience Spray Applicator License (or willingness to obtain) Skills & Attributes We Value Safety-first mindset Calm and professional under pressure Technically curious and eager to learn Physically capable of field work Reliable, precise, and documentation-focused Comfortable working independently once trained What Success Looks Like Safe, compliant flights Accurate mission execution Clean documentation Minimal rework Growing independence over time Reduced load on senior operators Growth Path This role can progress into: Senior Drone Operator Drone Trainer Environmental Application Specialist Technical Lead (with experience) Advancement is based on skill, reliability, and system adherence—not tenure.
