We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and adaptable Camp Cleaner / Kitchen Helper to join our remote camp team. This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout camp facilities while assisting the kitchen team with cleaning, dishwashing, and general kitchen duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain camp facilities, including sleeping quarters, common areas, washrooms, showers, offices, and other shared spaces
- Perform regular sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing
- Clean and sanitize washrooms and high-touch areas
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming camp environment
- Change and launder bedding, towels, and other linens as required
- Collect and manage garbage, recycling, and waste throughout camp
- Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Clean and maintain kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas
- Assist with basic food preparation and meal service as directed by the Head Cook
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing food and camp supplies
- Monitor cleaning and kitchen supplies and communicate when items need to be restocked
- Follow all applicable food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and camp cleanliness standards
- Work collaboratively with camp and kitchen staff to maintain a safe and efficient camp environment
- Perform other general camp and cleaning duties as required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in housekeeping, camp cleaning, janitorial work, kitchen support, or a similar role is an asset
- Previous remote or industrial camp experience is considered an asset
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies, linens, and other materials
- Comfortable working and living in a remote camp environment
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and camp conditions
