During Stampede, The Beltliner transforms into one of Calgary's busiest brunch, lunch, and social destinations. We're looking for bartenders who thrive in high-volume environments, bring positive energy to every shift, and take pride in delivering exceptional hospitality.
Role Summary
The Stampede Bartender is responsible for delivering efficient, high-quality beverage service while creating a welcoming and engaging experience for every guest.
This role combines craft bartending, guest interaction, service support, and operational excellence. You'll work as part of a fast-paced team serving everything from brunch cocktails and Caesars to local beer, wine, and signature features during one of Calgary's busiest weeks of the year.
We're looking for someone who can stay calm under pressure, move with urgency, and maintain exceptional standards while handling high-volume service.
Key Responsibilities
Beverage Service & Bartending
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, coffee beverages, and non-alcoholic drinks efficiently and consistently
- Maintain high standards of product quality, presentation, and portion control
- Manage multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and speed
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible liquor service practices
Guest Experience
- Create welcoming and memorable interactions with guests
- Provide menu and beverage recommendations with confidence
- Build positive relationships with regulars, visitors, and Stampede guests
- Handle guest concerns professionally and proactively
High-Volume Service Execution
- Perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Support servers and fellow bartenders to ensure smooth service flow
- Maintain organization and composure during peak periods
- Anticipate service needs before they become issues
Bar Operations & Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout service
- Complete opening, closing, and side duties to company standards
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages to management
- Ensure all equipment, garnishes, and service stations are prepared and ready for service
Teamwork & Culture
- Contribute to a positive and professional team environment
- Support fellow team members wherever needed
- Represent The Beltliner with enthusiasm, hospitality, and professionalism
- Help create the energetic atmosphere that makes Stampede one of our most exciting weeks of the year

Requirements
- Must hold current ProServe certification
- Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality environment
- Ability to work flexible hours throughout Stampede, including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Ability to remain organized and professional during high-volume periods
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of local craft beer, spirits, and cocktail trends
