We're looking to welcome 2 Community Support Workers to support an individual with developmental disabilities in a group home context.
There are 2 part-time positions available:
Position 1: Saturday and Sunday: 7:15am to 2:15pm, Thursday: 9:30am to 3pm
Position 2: Saturday and Sunday: 2pm to 9pm, Wednesday: 9:30am to 3pm
Position Overview
The Community Support Worker is primarily responsible for the designated individual with disabilities (referred to as Core Member) in the home. This role involves assisting the designated Core Member during the scheduled time, including personal care, health and safety, social and emotional support, and activities. The CSW fosters a supportive, inclusive, and respectful environment that promotes dignity, nurtures gifts, and builds mutual relationships primarily with the designated Core Member and with everyone in the home.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing and implementing a programming plan and a behavioral support plan for the designated Core Member.

Support the Core Member in their activities to meet the following goals:

To maintain and increase independence in skills of daily living

To maintain and increase social and relationship skills

To maintain and increase ability to make choices and decisions in personal matters

To maintain and increase health and fitness
-
To maintain and increase meaningful participation in the wider community

Support the Core Member in programs and activities which are suitable for the Core Member. For example, artistic expressions, volunteer opportunities, leisure activities, and local community involvement.

Assist the Core Member with personal care and hygiene, mobility support, and meals.

Assist the Core Member with health and safety needs.

Assist the Core Member with emotional support and relationship support.

Assist the Core Member with professional appointments.

Prepare meals and perform housekeeping tasks.

Fulfill other duties as required to support the designated Core Member and other Core Members in the home.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
-
Grade 12 or equivalent
-
Driver’s license and driving experience
-
Acceptable Police Information Check that includes the Vulnerable Sector Check
Preferred:

Certificate in Community Support Work, Disability Studies, Social Services, Health Care Aide, or related field

Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
