Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team on a fixed-term contract basis, with the term running until the end of December 2026, with the potential for extension. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting attorneys by conducting in-depth legal research, drafting and reviewing legal documents, managing case files, and ensuring efficient legal processes. This position requires a high level of organization, exceptional writing skills, and proficiency in legal research tools. The Paralegal will contribute significantly to the smooth operation and success of our legal services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Management: Review, organize, and prepare legal documents, including list of documents and chronologies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Legal Analysis: Analyze case documents and evidence for production, privilege, and relevance, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Assist in the scheduling of independent medical examinations and the organization of materials for expert reviews.
- Drafting & Filing: Prepare and draft pleadings, affidavits, and court applications, ensuring that all legal documents are prepared accurately and in a timely manner.
- Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain effective communication with clients, witnesses, and experts to facilitate the exchange of information and documentation.
- Administrative Support: Provide ongoing administrative support to attorneys, including maintaining case files, tracking deadlines, and preparing reports.
Qualifications:
- Education: Paralegal Certificate from a recognized institution (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in ICBC defense or personal injury law.
- Writing Skills: Strong drafting abilities for legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, and court applications.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and an unwavering attention to detail in all aspects of legal work.
- ICBC Billing: An ICBC billing number is considered an asset.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
Pay: $75,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
