We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our Global Markets technology team in Montréal. In this role, you will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT, supporting critical initiatives across securities processing for Equities and Fixed Income.
You will contribute to both strategic transformation projects and day-to-day enhancements, working in a collaborative, bilingual, and fast-paced environment.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Act as the Point of Contact in the AMER region for one or more business lines, managing and coordinating project requests.
- Serve as a lead Business Analyst within the Global Markets business unit, contributing to the delivery of strategic initiatives.
- Analyze and understand business requirements, functions, and processes related to securities processing, including Equities and Fixed Income (settlement & clearing).
- Drive both technical and functional solutions, assessing tactical vs. strategic options and providing cost estimates and delivery timelines.
- Organize and facilitate solution workshops, oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) phases, and ensure proper validation and sign-offs.
- Translate detailed business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications for development teams.
- Collaborate closely with users to define test plans, acceptance criteria, and document testing outcomes.
- Contribute to the design of target architecture aligned with Information Systems (IS) strategy.
- Partner with Operations, Front Office, Risk, Finance, and external stakeholders across regions.
- Manage stakeholder expectations effectively in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
- Proven experience in investment banking or capital markets, with exposure to:
Securities and cash products
Equities and Fixed Income settlement and clearing processes
- Strong experience working within a Technology team, liaising between business stakeholders (Front Office, Accounting, Finance, Risk) and IT
- Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies, particularly Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban)
- Proficiency in SQL (query writing, data analysis, validation)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, and good working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and concurrent projects in a time-sensitive environment
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or Engineering
Nice to Have
- Experience working across multiple time zones (AMER, EMEA, APAC)
- Proactive, self-driven, and results-oriented mindset with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Strong team player with a disciplined approach to SDLC practices
- Knowledge of XML and JSON
- Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools
- Familiarity with Broadridge platforms (BPS, IMPACT, Finance DLR)
- Prior experience in a Project Manager or hybrid BA/PM role
- Bilingual (English and French)
Language Requirement
English (required): Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential due to regular interaction with U.S.-based and global stakeholders
French (highly valued in Montréal): Ability to collaborate effectively with local teams and contribute to a bilingual work environment.

The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60,000–$115,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
