Job Title: Over Dimensional Load Dispatcher (Heavy Haul / Specialized Freight)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Over dimensional Load Dispatcher to join our operations team. This role focuses on planning, coordinating, and executing the safe and compliant movement of oversized and heavy-haul freight across North America. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of permits, routing, and escort requirements, along with the ability to manage high-value, time-sensitive shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and dispatch over dimensional and heavy-haul loads in compliance with all provincial and state regulations
- Coordinate permits, routing, and clearances for oversized freight across multiple jurisdictions
- Arrange escorts, pilot cars, and police escorts where required
- Communicate detailed load instructions to drivers, including securement, routing, and timing requirements
- Track shipments in real-time and proactively manage delays, weather, and route restrictions
- Ensure all documentation (permits, BOLs, rate confirmations) is accurate and complete
- Work closely with customers to provide updates and ensure service expectations are met
- Coordinate with internal teams including safety, compliance, and billing
- Resolve issues quickly and efficiently while maintaining service standards
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2–3 years of dispatch experience in over dimensional / heavy-haul freight
- Strong knowledge of North American permit regulations and routing requirements
- Experience coordinating escorts and specialized equipment
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority loads simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience with TMS systems is an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with cross-border shipments (Canada/USA)
- Knowledge of load securement standards and industry regulations
- Experience working with high-value or project cargo
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
