Department: Purchasing Department - Summer Relief

To provide efficient, timely distribution of medical/surgical supplies, equipment, environmental supplies, stationary deliveries, lab specimens and pharmaceuticals to patient and non-patient areas at all sites. Manage and replenish unit requirements accurately following established quotas.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Experience/Knowledge:
- Grade 12 graduate or equivalent required
- Knowledge of medical/surgical supplies required
- Experience in use of an Automated Inventory Management System required
- Data Entry - 10 Key (6000 keystrokes/hour, 95% accuracy) required
- Knowledge and experience with computers (e.g. Meditech, MS Outlook) required
- Valid Drivers’ license required
- Ministry of Transportation driver’s abstract required
- Experience in use of handheld terminals is an asset
Skills/Abilities:
- Must be physically fit and able to safely push/pull supply carts (up to 50 kg)
- Able to frequently lift and reach (up to 22 kg)
- Able to occasionally handle equipment exceeding 50 kg with assistance
- Knowledge of good body mechanics and their application required
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Good interpersonal skills required
- Must be available for scheduled shifts and call-ins
- Good attendance and work record required
- Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors
- Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
- Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is an asset
