Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Experience with various construction trades and tools is highly valued to ensure high-quality workmanship and project success.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine roofing specifications and materials needed.
- Install new roofing systems using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment as required.
- Repair or replace damaged roofing components, including shingles, metal panels, membranes, and flashing.
- Measure and cut materials accurately for precise fitting on different structures.
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure waterproofing and weatherproofing of roofs.
- Assist with related construction tasks such as concrete forming, masonry, carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, flooring installation, tile laying, welding, restoration, cabinet installation, construction painting, concrete finishing, and masonry work when necessary.
- Operate heavy equipment safely when required for material handling or structural modifications.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly.
Requirements
- Proven experience in roofing installation and repair.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, and other construction equipment.
- Familiarity with various trades such as carpentry, masonry, electrical systems, plumbing, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, concrete finishing, restoration work, and cabinet installation is a plus.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when necessary.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to roofing and construction sites.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions including lifting heavy materials and working at heights.
