Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Lead Hand to join our team. Mr Greek is expanding its stores and adding cafes into each. We will be starting with our Bathurst location. We are looking for a friendly barista to join our team. Previous proven experience is an absolute asset. If you are searching for a position as a Barista/Lead Hand this is a perfect fit for you.
Currently we are looking to hire for our 410 Bathurst location as well as 3343 Yonge location. Ideally at the moment we are looking to hire opening and closing staff.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities
- Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including food preparation stations and dining spaces
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety standards are met
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service
- Restock supplies as needed and assist in opening or closing duties as assigned
- Ensure all food products are prepared according to company standards and health regulations
Skills
- Experience with POS systems, especially Micros POS, is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Knowledge of the food industry, including food preparation, serving, and food safety practices
- Excellent time management skills to handle high-volume periods efficiently
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and processing transactions accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous barista experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Food handling certification or knowledge of food safety standards is a plus
Currently we have our Bathurst Street location open, and in the near future we will be opening our Yonge Street location. Training for our Yonge location will be done at 410 Bathurst until the Yonge location is open.
The position begins at 17.60$ an hour with part time and full time positions available.
