Overview
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting food preparation and service operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to food safety standards. Previous restaurant or food service experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided to ensure success in this vital role.
Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following proper food safety protocols
- Assist with meal preparation and food handling tasks as directed by kitchen staff
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Help with basic food prep tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, or portioning items
- Ensure all dishes and kitchen tools are stored properly after cleaning
- Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe working environment
- Assist with waste disposal and recycling procedures to maintain a tidy kitchen space
Experience
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or food industry settings is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, meal preparation, and food handling practices is advantageous
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation procedures is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to learn new skills related to kitchen operations
