Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Bakery Department Staff to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant bakery environment, contributing to the preparation and presentation of delicious baked goods. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and a keen eye for detail. Prior experience in food handling, baking, or the food industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided. This position is integral to ensuring our bakery maintains high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and baking of a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes
- Decorate and create buns, cakes and desserts with attention to detail
- Package baked items efficiently while maintaining product quality and presentation
- Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to food safety standards and regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workstation and equipment
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selections and answering questions
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies as needed
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in product quality
Requirements
- Early morning hours, weekends available, up to 44 hours per week
- Previous experience in cake decorating, baking, or food preparation is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for all skill levels
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
- Experience working in a restaurant or food industry environment is advantageous
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Basic kitchen experience including food preparation, cooking, and packaging techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting supplies or baked goods
- A passion for baking, food presentation, and delivering exceptional customer experiences
Pay: $17.60 per hour
