Salary Range: $39.96 - $40.37 /hour
An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Practical Nurse to provide services within the Urology Clinic at St. Joseph's Hospital. This highly specialized area of ambulatory care provides care for diseases and conditions including, but not limited to, urinary dysfunction and incontinence, erectile dysfunction, prostate and bladder cancer and kidney stones. The RPN will support the physicians during each urological patient clinic visit. The Urology clinic is a fast-paced environment that requires the RPN to be able to prioritize tasks and patients appropriately, be an effective communicator with their colleagues and demonstrate an eagerness and commitment to learning new skills. Patient teaching and education are paramount for this population and includes but is not limited to intracavernosal injections, clean intermittent catheterizations and catheter care.

Essential Qualifications

Current Registered Practical Nurse certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario

Proficiency and experience in pharmacology and medication administration

Valid CPR certificate

Successful completion of a nursing competency test

Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work independently

Demonstrated knowledge of urological investigative and diagnostic procedures, andrology (men's sexual health), urological cancers and associated treatments

Ability to apply and teach applicable methods in a variety of sensitive issues including incontinence and erectile dysfunction

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload

Demonstrated excellence in patient teaching

Demonstrated competence in assessment, evaluation and care planning skills

Preferred Qualifications-
Proficiency in French would be an asset.

Urology clinic experience or one-year recent experience in urology care

Immunization Requirements-
