Our client, a leading infrastructure construction firm in Vancouver, BC, has a strong track record of working on major projects, including the Broadway Subway and Surrey-Langley SkyTrain. They are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their team, someone who not only has experience managing complex civil infrastructure projects but is also passionate about mentoring and developing junior staff.
- Oversee large-scale heavy civil infrastructure projects from pre-construction to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior project managers, project coordinators, and field engineers, fostering their professional growth.
- Collaborate with the estimating team in the pre-construction phase, contributing expertise on project scope, means and methods, and risk assessment.
- Manage contracts, budgets, change orders, and subcontractor agreements while ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and provide guidance to the field teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless project execution.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and team productivity.
- 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, including managing large infrastructure projects (e.g., transit, bridges, highways, or utilities).
- Strong ability to mentor and develop junior project staff, providing hands-on guidance and knowledge transfer.
- Background in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field (degree or diploma preferred).
- Demonstrated success in managing budgets, schedules, contracts, and stakeholder communications on complex projects.
- Knowledge of construction best practices, safety regulations, and project management methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management software and estimating tools is an asset.
