Minotaur Upfitting builds refrigerated vehicles and practical commercial vehicle solutions. Our work includes refrigeration and heater installations, insulation systems, automotive electrical work, shelving, flooring, lighting, accessories and custom fleet upfitting.
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced, mechanically capable technician who knows their way around vehicles, tools and a working shop.
This is not an entry-level position. You do not need experience in every part of vehicle upfitting, but you must have relevant experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Commercial vehicle upfitting
- Automotive electrical systems
- Automotive or mobile HVAC
- Transport refrigeration and reefer installations
- Mechanical experience
- Relevant shop experience
The right person can look at a project, understand what needs to be done and figure out a practical way to complete it. You should be comfortable solving problems, working with limited supervision and adapting when a custom installation does not come with a perfect set of instructions.
Responsibilities
- Install refrigeration units and vehicle heating systems
- Complete commercial vehicle upfitting and accessory installations
- Perform automotive electrical work, including wiring, routing, connections, relays, fuses and component mounting
- Assist with insulated interiors, flooring, wall systems and related reefer builds
- Plan installation layouts and determine practical mounting and routing solutions
- Diagnose installation problems and find safe, reliable solutions
- Use hand tools, power tools and shop equipment safely and effectively
- Follow installation procedures, quality standards and safety requirements
- Inspect completed work and correct any deficiencies
- Keep tools, equipment and work areas clean and organized
- Support other shop projects when required
What We Are Looking For
- Relevant experience in vehicle upfitting, automotive electrical, mobile HVAC, refrigeration or vehicle heater installation
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability
- Excellent ability with hand tools, power tools and shop equipment
- Comfortable working independently and making sound installation decisions
- Able to understand how components should be mounted, wired and routed
- Familiar with normal shop practices and safety requirements
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Reliable, productive and able to maintain focus throughout a full shift
- Willing to learn new equipment, systems and installation methods
- Able to work effectively as part of a small, growing team
Compensation and Opportunity
Starting wage will be based on the depth and relevance of your experience. Candidates with direct experience in transport refrigeration, vehicle heaters, automotive electrical systems or commercial vehicle upfitting will receive special consideration.
The position also includes opportunities to participate in company bonus and profit-sharing programs.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
