Job Summary
The Interprofessional Educator is responsible for developing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating existing and new interprofessional training and education activities. Reporting to the Manager, Simulation & Virtual Learning, the Interprofessional Educator provide expertise in Interprofessional training and deliver innovative educational programs to teams, trainees and leaders at Baycrest and partner organizations. Experiential education approaches, such as simulation, e-learning, arts-based learning, game-based learning and team-based, relational learning are used to foster curiosity, discovery, critical thinking, reflection, communication and problem solving for strengths- and team-based approaches to care.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaboratively plans, develops, implements and evaluates educational products, projects and programs that support and promote the goals of the Centre, including educational implementation and knowledge mobilization.
- Consults and collaborates with interprofessional teams, trainees, leaders and care partners to assess their current and future learning needs.
- Coordinates and delivers in-person and virtual interprofessional education programs with internal and external teams, trainees, leaders and care partners.
- Integrates leading practices, research and educational technologies into teaching to ensure interprofessional teams acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes required for sustained practice change.
- Promotes quality of life for people living, working and studying in aging care settings through person-centred or relationship-centred types of care approaches.
- Provides implementation and coaching support to leaders and homes.
- Communicates with and tailors messaging for diverse learners and stakeholders.
- Participates in ongoing research, evaluation and innovation activities of the Centre.
- Ensures practices and processes are in accordance with legislative, regulatory and professional standards/requirements.
- Some travel will be required.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in a registered health care discipline (preferred) or degree in a registered health care discipline with substantive training and education experience.
- Training and substantial (3-5 years) experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating simulation-based education (e.g., Keystones of Healthcare Simulation certificate)
- Long-term care and/or aging care experience
- Experience working with regulated and unregulated care providers, students, families, volunteers and clinical leaders
- Advanced competencies in gerontological, dementia care, and interprofessional healthcare leading practices
- Excellent knowledge of curriculum or instructional design, adult education, and program evaluation
- Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and evaluate training
- Proficiency in educational technologies (e.g., software, apps, learning management systems) and Microsoft Office software
- Strong facilitation, coaching, debriefing, and presentation skills with individuals and teams
- Superior interprofessional, communication, and leadership skills
- Strong analytical, consensus-building, solution-finding and innovation skills
- Client- and partner-focused in defining quality and establishing priorities
- Ability to work proactively with a range of roles, disciplines and levels of staff within and outside the organization
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, client-focused environment while flexibly managing multiple, competing priorities
Compensation

Our salary ranges are structured to support progression, from learning the role to demonstrating full proficiency.
The salary range for this position is $84,417 to $105,521 per year.
Your placement within the target hiring range will depend on your job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, and relevant education and experience, as well as considerations such as market conditions and internal equity. The starting salary will be determined using these factors to ensure fairness and consistency across the organization.
