Are you organized, creative, and passionate about bringing people together?
Gander Grow Co. is looking for a Community Hub Coordinator to help manage our vibrant community market, café, and event space at Cobb's Pond Rotary Park. This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. You'll help coordinate community events, support market entrepreneurs, oversee the day-to-day operations of our café, and play a key role in creating a welcoming space where people connect, learn, and shop local.

What you'll do
As our Community Hub Coordinator, you'll help keep our facility running smoothly by:
- Coordinating workshops, classes, community events, and facility rentals
- Supporting daily café operations
- Communicating with vendors, instructors, and community partners
- Managing bookings, calendars, and the organization's email inbox
- Monitoring inventory and ordering supplies as needed
- Preparing invoices and assisting with administrative tasks
- Creating and scheduling social media content to promote programs and events
- Supporting weekly farmers markets and other community initiatives
- Working closely with the Gander Grow Co. Board to help grow community programming and local food initiatives
We're looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, organized, and dependable
- Comfortable managing multiple projects at once
- A strong communicator with excellent customer service skills
- Confident using computers, email, and social media
- Able to work independently while collaborating with volunteers and board members
- Passionate about community development and supporting local businesses
Experience in event planning, hospitality, administration, retail, marketing, or customer service is considered an asset, but we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Position Details
- Pay: $18–$20 per hour
- Hours: 35+ hours per week
- Location: Hybrid remote/on-site at Cobb's Pond Rotary Park, Gander, NL
- Start Date: Immediately
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Reside in Newfoundland and Labrador
- Be unemployed or underemployed (working fewer than 20 hours per week or working outside their field of training)
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or be eligible to work in Newfoundland and Labrador through an eligible work permit
- Meet the eligibility requirements of the funding program
