ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
LN is currently recruiting Geomatics and Surveying students for student and entry-level opportunities in Edmonton and Fort McMurray .
Whether you’re a first-year student looking for summer experience, further along in your program and ready to gain hands-on field experience, or preparing to graduate and begin your career, we want to hear from you.
Opportunities may include:
Summer Student / Survey Assistant: ideal for first-year students looking to gain industry experience during the summer
Survey Assistant – Student: ideal for students progressing through a Geomatics, Surveying, or related program
Junior Surveyor – Student / New Graduate: ideal for graduating students or recent graduates ready to take the next step in their surveying career
Previous field experience is not required for many of our student opportunities . LN provides safety training and job-specific training to help you get started.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Depending on your experience and the position, responsibilities may include:
Assist Surveyors and field crews with day-to-day survey operations
Set up, operate, and maintain survey equipment
Assist with construction layout, measurements, and field data collection
Record accurate field notes and site information
Support survey calculations, documentation, and project requirements
Learn to use modern survey equipment, technology, and field procedures
Follow LN and client safety policies and procedures
Work outdoors in varying weather, terrain, and site conditions
Work collaboratively with Surveyors, Survey Assistants, Project Managers, and other team members
WHAT YOU BRING
Currently enrolled in a Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related program and seeking a Summer 2027 opportunity , including first-year students looking to gain their first industry experience, or recently graduated and ready to begin your career.
Interest in developing a career in surveying and geomatics
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced field professionals
Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical field work
Previous survey, construction, field, co-op, or practicum experience is considered an asset but is not required
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence is considered an asset
Legally eligible to work in Canada
