Nurtured is seeking a friendly and motivated individual to assist Maritime families while shopping for maternity, baby, and children’s gear, furniture, and clothing.
Our ideal candidate is a strong communicator with an excellent memory, can juggle multiple tasks, and is highly organized and prompt. If you are a natural team player and ready to make the day-to-day aspects of an independently owned storefront a happy place to be, we want to hear from you.
Daily tasks include merchandising, on-floor sales, moving, pricing and receiving stock, talking with customers both in-store and over the phone, and processing orders. You must be a self-learner, as our catalogue of products is vast. This position is based in the vibrant North End of Halifax, working with a small, supportive team in a fast-paced environment focused on both celebrating and supporting expectant parents and families with young children.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in customer service; problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude are an asset
- Ability to embody a natural salesmanship that is both relatable and personable — we take great pride in matching the right products for each customer
- Thoughtful listener and effective communicator
- Detail-oriented; you enjoy delivering both products and service consistently, accurately, and with great presentation
- Quick learner aptitude; you love soaking up knowledge and sharing it with others
- Thrilled by the art form of merchandising while also understanding the balance and pause that happens when customers are in-store
- Appreciative of small business, organic or natural products, and selling high-quality, safe, and effective products
- Available to work weekends and some weekdays
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and carry a box up a flight of stairs

Starting rate based on customer service experience. Rate of pay increases based on performance after 3 months or earlier.
