Pianist Job Vacancy
Eldad-Hampton United Church Pastoral Charge are seeking a Pianist to provide music for our Sunday Worship and Special Services (e.g. Christmas Eve, Cemetery, Weddings, Funerals) for the congregations of Eldad United Church and Hampton United Church. The Pianist is integral to maintaining the Eldad-Hampton pastoral charge’s vision of joyful worship unto the Lord. They will help the congregation encounter God through music that touches the heart and lifts the spirit.
The Pianist works with:
· The Minister for review and consultation related to orders of service, music selections, minister’s message themes and other items as required.
· Ministry Personnel Committee for review of remuneration, to meet for annual review and for general personnel support items such as requests for vacation, reporting of absence, requests for continuing education funding.
The Pianist should possess the following qualifications:
· Proficient in piano.
· Experience performing church music.
· Ability to play the organ or any other musical instrument is an asset.
· Musical certification is an asset.
· A recent Vulnerable Sector Check must be provided.
Additional Benefits of the Pianist position include:
· The Pianist is entitled to play at and be compensated for all weddings and funerals that meet their availability. If they are not available for the event, payment will be directed to a substitute pianist.
· The Pianist is allowed two Sundays per year as floating absence days.
· The Pianist’s services are not required during the month of August with exception of weddings and funerals.
· A study allowance of up to $200 per year will be made available at the discretion of the Music and Worship Committee.
· The use of the organ and the piano in the Sanctuary for practice and teaching purposes.
Compensation:
· Payment is made to the Pianist monthly based on the number of Sundays in the annual term of the contract multiplied by the weekly rate and divided by eleven months. Weekly rate is negotiable.
Qualifications
The Pianist should possess the following qualifications:
