Overview
We are urgently hiring a dedicated Male Health Care Aide to provide compassionate support and provide one-on-one care to clients . We are looking for compassionate, reliable caregivers who are available to start immediately.
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Assistance with transfers using a transfer lifts
- Monitoring skin integrity and client comfort
- Providing respectful, compassionate, one-on-one care
- Provide medication administration and monitor health status as directed by healthcare professionals
- Support meal preparation and feeding needs, ensuring nutritional requirements are met
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Assist with transfers and heavy lifting to ensure safety during mobility assistance
- Follow care plans accurately and document any changes in condition or behavior
- Support clients with dementia or hospice needs with patience and understanding
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver consistent, high-quality care
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments preferred
- Strong patient care skills with knowledge of senior care, hospice care, or disability support
- Health Care Aide (HCA) Certificate (Required)
- Minimum 1 year of HCA or related caregiving experience
- Valid BC Driver's Licence
- Reliable vehicle to travel to client homes
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Proof of required immunizations
- Ability to provide compassionate, professional care
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate demeanor
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety procedures
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
- Experience working with individuals experiencing dementia or other cognitive impairments is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced settings
- Flexibility to adapt to changing care needs and schedules
We are looking for caregivers who are flexible and willing to accept short shifts (2–6 hours).
