THE ROLE
CFMWS is seeking a highly adaptable, outcome‑oriented Solution Architect to play a key role in our Innovation Program. Operating at the intersection of emerging technology, experimentation, and enterprise architecture, this role is designed for a technologist who thrives on learning new platforms quickly and translating ideas into tangible, working solutions.
Working closely with the Senior Manager of Innovation, you will design, build, and deliver Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and Proofs of Value (PoVs) across a wide range of technologies, including artificial intelligence and modern cloud capabilities. You will be a hands‑on contributor who can rapidly assess new tools, stand up environments, and demonstrate real‑world value through experimentation and innovation labs.
As a trusted technical advisor, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and vendors to evaluate feasibility, manage technical risk, and guide initiatives from concept through validation. You will translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights, enabling informed decision‑making and accelerating the path from experimentation to adoption.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration, or in a related field, AND some years of experience in technical architecture, application architecture, solution architecture or in a related field
Certifications in TOGAF, IASA (IT Architect) or Azure Cloud, an asset
Experience
In end-to-end solution design and architecture
In systems architecture and technical architecture and design
In lead rapid prototyping and POCs
In Azure environment including Power Platform
In designing and implementing agentic AI solutions, including the development of autonomous agents and multi-agent architectures
In using formal architecture frameworks and modeling tools
In integrated solution design
In leading multi‑discipline teams
In assess technology options and vendor/foundation‑model selection
In define rollout, monitoring and governance artifacts
In multi-technology environments
In Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Reporting
In providing advice on strategic issue
In creating and facilitating presentations

OTHER INFORMATION
This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
This position is a one-year term.
You may be eligible to receive a Scarce Skills Premium for this position as outlined in the IT Scarce Skills Compensation Agreement.
