The Professor Kamen Laboratory in the Department of Bioengineering, Faculty of Engineering at McGill University is seeking to hire a full-time Research Assistant II to support its research activities in the development and manufacturing of mRNA therapeutics.
Main responsibilities

Support production and purification of mRNA drug substances over the multiple steps of manufacturing
-
Support and optimize assays for Critical Quality Attributes of mRNA drug substance and drug products (LNP encapsulated mRNA) especially regarding cell based assays.

Contribute to the development of Synthetic amplification of template DNA comparing to the standard production of plasmids.

Contribute to the assessment and control for the supply chain for end-to-end manufacturing of mRNA drug products

Support junior staff in research projects and laboratory activities.

Analyze, interpret, and document research data.
Main Qualifications

Master's degree in Biological Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field.

Expert knowledge and working experience of plasmid production from sequence identification.

Expert knowledge and working experience for production of biologics within sterile environment.

Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team involving biologists and engineers.

Demonstrated ability to write technical reports and contribute to scientific publications.

Excellent command of English language

Full time 35h per week
Hourly Rate: 32.15$
