Automotive Red Seal Technician (Journeyperson) – Gas (SUV and bigger) & Diesel Experience

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Red Seal Automotive Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining both gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who is interested in expanding their expertise and taking on increasing responsibility in fleet maintenance and management.
Key Responsibilities: Working on SUVS and bigger. (Up to 1.5 ton vehicles)
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of gasoline and diesel vehicles.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, fuel, and emissions systems.
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance programs.
- Repair and service engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC systems, and electrical components.
- Utilize diagnostic software and specialized tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with industry standards.
- Assist with planning and coordinating maintenance schedules for commercial and fleet vehicles.
- Collaborate with management to improve fleet reliability, uptime, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor apprentices and junior technicians as required.
Qualifications
- Valid Red Seal Automotive Service Technician Certification.
- Minimum 10 years of automotive repair experience.
- Strong experience with both diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles.
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working on light-duty and medium-duty fleet vehicles is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous fleet maintenance or fleet management experience.
- Experience with commercial vehicles, work trucks, and equipment.
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- Interest in ongoing training and professional development.
