We’re seeking an experienced Red-Seal Commercial or Heavy Mechanic to keep our modern fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers and buses running efficiently.
This will be a full-time role based out of our head office in Penticton, BC. This position will be responsible for diagnosing equipment, performing service and repair work on a variety of equipment, creating repair orders within software system, assisting with on-road breakdowns and undergoing ongoing training to ensure comprehensive knowledge with new equipment and software systems.

Responsibilities:
1. Perform high quality professional diagnosis, maintenance and repair services on all assigned jobs and possess own provision of tooling.
2. Communicate with Leadhand Mechanic to advise of needed parts for repairs and service work.
3. Assist with on-road breakdowns, when necessary, attending breakdowns in service vehicle.
4. Perform equipment pre-trips and startups in mornings as required.
Required skills:
- Commercial Transport Red Seal with Vehicle Inspectors Certificate. (third or fourth year apprentices will be considered).
- Knowledge of Detroit, Freightliner, Cummins and International equipment is an asset.
- Good familiarity with air brake systems.
- Proven planning skills with the ability to remain calm and quickly make logical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills with a focus on building and maintaining good working relationships with customers and employees.
- Strong computer skills (outlook, excel, TMW Asset Maintenance).
- Experience with parts programs and diagnostic software (Detroit, Cummins, Navistar).
- Previous experience with Class 8 Trucks, Transit/School Buses and Commercial Trailers.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
Requirements:

· Be prepared to work on a 6-month probation period.
· Wages commensurate with experience.
