Job Summary (external):
The Manager, Change Management provides leadership and direction for the organization's change management function and is accountable for the successful planning, execution, and sustainment of organization change initiatives. In partnership with business leaders, the Manager is responsible for delivering change outcomes that enable business success and enhance organization performance.
Job Duties:
Owns and oversees the organization's change management framework, standards, methodologies, tools, templates, and reporting practices, to support the successful adoption and sustainment of organizational change.
Provides strategic leadership and direction for enterprise and project-specific change management activities by guiding leaders and project teams in the development, implementation, and evaluation of change management strategies and plans.
Provides leadership, guidance, direction and support to the change management team including: hiring staff; conducting performance reviews and follow-up, identifying training and development needs; coaching and motivating staff; coordinating work activities, assigning workload; and deciding on disciplinary action up to and including dismissal where necessary.
Provides expertise and guidance to leaders and project teams in assessing organizational, process, technology, and people impacts of proposed changes.
Supports leaders in developing stakeholder engagement plans and builds effective relationships with leaders, managers, WCB staff, and other key stakeholders.
Collaborates with Corporate Communications to support the development and implementation of communication strategies that promote awareness, understanding, and adoption of change initiatives.
Partners and collaborates with Learning and Development and business leaders to identify training requirements and support readiness activities.
Supports leaders and project teams in assessing organizational readiness and developing mitigation plans to address resistance and barriers to adoption.
Coaches and support leaders and managers in effectively leading their teams through change.
Establishes and monitors change management metrics, monitors adoption progress, and reports outcomes to stakeholders and leadership.
Collaborates with key business stakeholders and executives to establish change management priorities, aligns resources, and determines when additional expertise or support is required from preferred vendors.
Facilitates change education, workshops and learning sessions for leadership and executives, as well as other WCB teams as required.
Participates in the selection and engagement of external contractors. This includes preparation/analysis of requests for proposals, overall management of the contractor, ensuring all contractual service requirements are met, and processing of invoices.
Oversees the establishment, implementation and improvement of change management standards and resources, including but not limited to change management methodologies, terminology, templates and reporting.
Keeps current on trends in change management/business transformation. Maintains current knowledge through research, information sharing and discussing trends with other Change Management Professionals within the community; liaises with other Workers Compensation Boards, public agencies and other organizations regarding best practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
University degree in Business Administration or a related field
Minimum seven (7) years' experience leading organizational change, with at least two (2) years of managing direct reports.
Knowledge of change management techniques and methodologies
Knowledge of human-centered design methodology
Advanced proficiency in the use of personal computer and software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project) in a Windows environment.
Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate with stakeholders
Excellent problem solving and analytical ability
Ability to lead project teams and motivate team members
Ability to organize and prioritize workload under pressure within tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Change management certification is considered an asset
Related education such as Human Resources Management or Project Management is considered an asset
Ability to communicate proficiently in both official languages (English & French) is an asset, but is not required
