ABOUT THE PRACTICE
Dr. Craig Best is a dual board-certified specialist in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (FRCPC) and Interventional Pain Medicine, with subspecialty training at Harvard Medical School's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The practice offers direct private care — a patient-centred model focused on access, thoroughness, and exceptional clinical outcomes — across two locations in North Vancouver and Vancouver, with procedural services delivered in Vancouver.
This is a unique opportunity to join a high-calibre, physician-led private practice at an early stage and grow with it. The position begins at 20–30 hours per week with a clear path to full-time (40 hours per week) as the practice expands.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an organized, professional, and personable Medical Office Assistant to support clinic operations. The position is hybrid: 2–3 days per week in-clinic (North Vancouver and/or Vancouver) with the remainder completed remotely. We are looking to fill this role as soon as possible.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Scheduling patient appointments, managing the calendar, and coordinating follow-ups
Answering phones and responding to patient inquiries with professionalism and discretion
Preparing and managing patient charts, referral documentation, and correspondence using Accuro EMR
Administering and processing Ocean patient intake forms and questionnaires
Coordinating referrals to and from other specialists and allied health providers
Supporting billing and insurance documentation as needed
Managing procedure bookings
Assisting with general administrative tasks to support the physician and smooth clinic flow
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Completion of a Medical Office Assistant certificate program (BCIT, VCC, or equivalent) preferred
Experience with Accuro EMR strongly preferred; familiarity with Ocean (CognisantMD) an asset
Prior experience in a specialist, surgical, or procedural clinic an asset
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, particularly musculoskeletal, spine, or pain medicine
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities independently
High degree of professionalism, discretion, and patient-centred communication
Comfortable working both in-clinic and independently from home
Proficiency with standard office tools (email, calendar, document management)
WHAT WE OFFER
Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience
A clear growth trajectory — starting at 20–30 hours per week with a planned path to full-time (40 hrs/week)
Hybrid work arrangement with flexibility
A collaborative, respectful working environment with direct access to the physician
Exposure to a specialized, procedurally oriented private practice — an excellent environment for professional development
