We are currently seeking an experienced Class 1 Driver to join our growing operation.
What You'll Do
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial vehicles on cross-border routes throughout Canada and the United States
- Transport flat deck freight including lumber, steel, and other industrial materials
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Ensure freight is properly secured in accordance with industry regulations and company standards
- Tarp loads as required
- Maintain accurate logbooks and Hours of Service records
- Communicate regularly with dispatch through email and phone
- Operate Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and comply with all applicable transportation regulations
- Report equipment defects, maintenance concerns, or safety issues promptly
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers and receivers
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class 1F Driver's Licence
- Minimum two (2) years of verifiable flat deck experience
- Valid passport
- Eligible to cross the Canada–United States border
- Clean driver's abstract
- Criminal Record Check satisfactory to the Company
- Experience operating 18-speed manual transmission trucks
- Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. Hours of Service regulations
- Experience using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD), preferably Omnitracs
- Demonstrated knowledge of proper load securement procedures
- Experience tarping various commodities including lumber, steel, and general freight
Equipment & Routes
- Well-maintained Peterbilt 389 tractors
- Consistent freight through exclusive customer contracts
- Regular lanes servicing Minneapolis, Chicago, and the U.S. Midwest
- Typical trips are 5–7 days on the road
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting rate: $0.60 per mile (loaded and empty), based on experience
- Cell phone reimbursement up to $50 per month
- Paid statutory holidays
