This position, which reports to the Manager of Allied Health and Ambulatory Services, will be responsible for the clinical nutrition program for the Inpatient Unit and will provide the following services, including but not limited to:
- Completes comprehensive nutrition assessments and care plans for the acute and chronic-care in-patients needing therapeutic and modified diets
- Provides therapeutic counselling to patients and families
- Consults with the Food Services Manager to plan and organize nutrition services as required
- Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team by attending weekly rounds to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
- Provides education to staff, patients and their families
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate Degree required with successful completion of accredited dietetic internship
- Must be a Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario (Member of Dietitians of Canada preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of recent and related experience in hospital and/or Long term care
- Certified Diabetes Educator preferred
- Knowledge of IDDSI and SGA considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and teaching skills
- Flexible to adapt to work in other areas of ARH including nutrition counselling for Diabetes outpatients and completing long term care assessments for residents (The Grove) is considered an asset
- Collaborative approach with a patient-focused attitude
- Proficient with a variety of computer applications including Microsoft office
- Knowledge of Meditech and/or EPIC would be considered an asset
