Finance Coordinator
Status: Full-time permanent (1.0 FTE – 37.5 hours per week)
Annual Salary: $83,000.00

Village Family Health Team – Liberty Village, Toronto
Village Family Health Team (VFHT) is an established primary care provider located in Liberty Village, Toronto. We serve our diverse local community, with a special focus on people with serious mental illness and addictions. We are currently seeking a collaborative and highly organized Finance Coordinator to support the financial operations, planning, and reporting functions of the organization. This is a full-time permanent position with a competitive benefits package including HOOPP pension plan.
Position Summary
The Finance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Finance Manager with the day-to-day accounting functions of VFHT and its business partners. This role ensures the accuracy of financial records, timely processing of transactions, strong internal controls, and supporting compliance with regulatory and funding requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and posting journal entries to QuickBooks. Review invoices for proper approval and documentation prior to payment.
- Ensure timely payment of vendors and proper recording of expenditures.
- Reconcile credit card and ensure all charges are captured in the financial statements.
- Prepare and reconcile bank account and deposits to funding agreements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities including cost allocations between partner entities. Prepare and submit quarterly and annual GST filings. Work with partner entities to record financial transactions and resolve any discrepancies.
Generate reports, spreadsheets, and financial analyses for leadership and stakeholders.
- Support staff with financial procedures, budgeting, and reporting requirements. Respond to internal and external financial inquiries.
- Prepare and maintain audit schedules, working papers and support the annual audit as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA designation or candidacy preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Experience in the not-for-profit, healthcare, public sector, or community-based organizations is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency with accounting software, including QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
