Overview:
You would join a very committed and talented team whose mission is quite simply to keep everything working perfectly, it’s all about minimizing downtime and maximizing our output. You’ll work on repairing things such as Automated Bag Systems, Automated tunnel washers, Automated gas fired dryers, Automated feeders / folding equipment, air compressors, along with all sorts of electrical systems and electronics. You will be responsible to perform preventive maintenance on a wide-range of systems, including motor-control, pump motors, and industrial equipment; Use your skills and know-how to spot problems before they happen. Diagnose problems in electrical systems and assemblies. Fabricate, weld, and install new projects.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Repairing, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of industrial laundry equipment.
- All aspects of the general maintenance and operation of the laundry plant; including electrical and mechanical.
- Complete work orders and preventative maintenance tasks
- Promptly respond to all urgent situations and proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve machine issues
- Ensure accurate inventory and ordering of critical parts
- Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly
- Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations and aware of safety hazards
- Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime
- Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones
- Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts
- Mechanical aptitude in dealing with wrenches, hammers, forklifts, and other similar tools
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts
- Working knowledge of mechanical technical skills to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints
- Strong communication, collaboration and time management skills
- Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with similar employees and stakeholders such as Engineers, Plant Managers, and Part Vendors, amongst others
Education:
Formal training on low voltage control circuits would be considered an asset. We will test all shortlisted applicants
- Strong electrical aptitude, ticketed electrician preferred
- Previous technical training (certificates and licenses) would be considered an asset.
- Previous boiler Training or a class 5 Boiler ticket would be considered an asset.
- A Welder Metal Fabricator ticket or welding experience would be considered an asset.
Working Conditions
- Emergency response may be required on a 24-hour basis
- Perform miscellaneous labor activities to help other workers as directed
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Physically demanding and includes sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting
- Straight Day Shift
- Must be able to work weekends
The expected pay range for this position is shown in accordance with the BC Pay Transparency Act. Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and internal equity

Pay: $32.00-$40.00 per hour
