Overview
Barrel 22 Hot Sauce is looking for a friendly, confident, and energetic sales representative to help support us during busy farmers’ markets and community events.
You’ll introduce customers to our small-batch fermented hot sauces, offer samples, explain the different flavours and heat levels, and help turn curious visitors into happy customers.
This is a paid part-time position offering an hourly wage plus sales commission. It is a good fit for someone with some previous sales or customer-service experience who enjoys working with people in a lively environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and create a welcoming market experience
- Offer samples and explain our products, ingredients, flavours, and heat levels
- Recommend sauces based on each customer’s preferences
- Encourage purchases, bundles, and repeat business
- Process customer transactions accurately
- Help set up, organize, restock, and clean the market booth
- Represent Barrel 22 professionally and enthusiastically
- Work closely with the team during busy market periods
Qualifications
- Some previous sales, retail, hospitality, or customer-service experience
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable approaching customers
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Reliable, punctual, and organized
- Comfortable standing and speaking with customers for extended periods
- Able to work independently when required
- Interest in food, local products, farmers’ markets, or small businesses
- Food-sampling or market experience is an asset but not required
Compensation and Schedule
- Hourly wage plus sales commission
- Part-time and event-based hours
- Most shifts will take place at farmers’ markets and community events
- Weekend availability is important
- Specific locations, hours, and compensation will be discussed during the interview
