We are seeking dedicated and professional Security Officers (Loss Prevention Officers) with a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to maintaining safety and security. The ideal candidates will take pride in their presence, professionalism, and ability to contribute to a safe environment.
As a Loss Prevention Officer (LPO), you will play a vital role in safeguarding clients’ people, property, and reputation. You will represent the organization in a professional uniform, combining alertness and vigilance with excellent customer service to help prevent theft and ensure a secure environment for staff and customers.
Job Duties Include:
- Maintain a visible and professional presence at store entrances and throughout the premises
- Deter theft and unauthorized access through active observation and excellent customer service
- Conduct regular patrols to identify suspicious activity and potential security risks
- Assist customers and staff courteously, professionally, and with discretion at all times
- Enforce store policies to maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment
- Collaborate closely with store management and team members to address security concerns
- Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, and emergencies, escalating situations when necessary
- Accurately document all incidents, violations, and suspicious activities in a timely manner
- Exercise sound judgment, tact, and professionalism when handling all situations
- Support loss prevention objectives while promoting a safe and positive shopping experience
- Complete detailed reports for security-related incidents, including theft and policy violations
- Escalate serious situations to law enforcement when required
- Respond to emergency situations efficiently and in accordance with established procedures
Skills & Requirements:
- Valid Ontario Security License (required)
- Previous experience as a Security Guard or Loss Prevention Officer considered an asset
- Professional appearance with high standards of grooming and presentation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and confidently with diverse individuals
- Excellent observational skills with strong attention to detail
- Sound judgment and the ability to make quick, effective decisions in dynamic situations
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and team meetings
- Physically fit and able to stand or patrol for extended periods as required
