Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Welder to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have experience with MIG welding in a production environment, using jigs and fixtures to produce high-quality welded components according to engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding in a cell production environment
- Fit, position, and align components using measuring tools, clamps, and fixtures prior to welding
- Use fixtures and jigs to assemble and weld parts accurately
- Operate machinery and equipment as instructed by Supervisor
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Measure and inspect fitted and welded parts to ensure they meet specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
- Follow safety procedures and company policies
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by Supervisor or Manager
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with JGW’s Code of Business Conduct and Confidentiality Policy
Skill Requirements:
- Proven ability to weld MIG in a production setting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Familiarity with measuring tools (e.g., calipers, tape measures)
- Knowledge of metal types and welding properties
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience with CNC is an asset, but not required
- Valid welding certifications/tickets is an asset
- Aluminum welding experience (MIG/TIG) considered an asset
- TIG welding experience considered an asset
- Experience with robotic or collaborative robot welding considered an asset
- Manual laser welding experience considered an asset
Effort & Work Conditions:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods
- Occasional exposure to warm/hot conditions during summer months
- Must be willing to work rotating or assigned shifts as needed
- Commitment to support production goals and team output
Education & Experience:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Previous welding experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Location:
This position is based in Princeton, Ontario, just 25 minutes from Kitchener/Cambridge and 10 minutes from Brantford.
