Job Overview
The Production Associate is responsible for preparing and serving fresh food and beverages while delivering exceptional customer service within Nature's Emporium's Production Department. This role supports all areas of the department, including food service operations, bakery production, grab-and-go food production, fresh cut fruit preparation, and rotisserie programs.
Production Associates are cross trained across multiple areas of the department and play an important role in creating a welcoming guest experience while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
Duties
- Deliver exceptional customer service
- Greet customers and provide menu and product recommendations
- Answer customer questions regarding ingredients, allergens, and product features.
- Accurately process customer transactions
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly
- Prepare and serve made-to-order beverages, smoothies, juices, wellness drinks, and menu items
- Prepare fresh bowls, wraps, sandwiches, salads, and other prepared foods according to recipes and standards
- Assist with the preparation, baking, finishing, packaging, and merchandising of bakery products
- Prepare and package grab-and-go meals, snacks, and convenience items
- Produce fresh cut fruit and vegetable offerings
- Prepare, cook, package, and merchandise rotisserie chickens and other prepared food offerings
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, retail, bakery, culinary, or customer service environments is preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic understanding of food preparation, food safety, and sanitation practices is an asset
- Experience operating a point-of-sale (POS) system is an asset
- Ability to safely lift up to 20 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving food preparation, cutting, packaging, merchandising, and cleaning
- Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including kitchens, bakery production areas, refrigerated storage areas, freezers, and customer-facing service counters
- Ability to safely operate commercial food preparation equipment, including ovens, mixers, blenders, slicers, rotisserie equipment, and other kitchen equipment
- Ability to safely handle and use knives and other sharp food preparation tools for cutting, slicing, chopping, and portioning food products
- Must maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and food safety practices
