Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and attentive Flag Football Officials to oversee youth and adult flag football games. The ideal candidate will ensure fair play, enforce game rules, and promote a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants. This role offers an excellent opportunity for sports enthusiasts to gain officiating experience while contributing to community recreation programs.
Responsibilities
- Enforce game rules and regulations consistently and fairly during flag football matches
- Make accurate calls regarding flags, turnovers, and fouls in real-time
- Maintain control of the game, ensuring smooth flow and adherence to safety guidelines
- Communicate clearly with players, coaches, and other officials to facilitate fair play
- Monitor player conduct to promote sportsmanship and resolve disputes diplomatically
- Keep track of game time, scorekeeping, and other administrative duties as needed
- Attend pre-game briefings or training sessions to stay updated on rules and procedures
Skills
- Strong knowledge of flag football rules and gameplay mechanics
- Excellent communication skills for clear, respectful interactions with players, coaches, and fellow officials
- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate calls and adherence to safety standards
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends as needed
- Prior officiating experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided for new officials
