The Revelstoke Paddlesport Association (RPA) is seeking enthusiastic, community-minded individuals to help support and grow paddlesport in Revelstoke. We are currently hiring for two positions: Operations Manager and Paddling Program Coordinator. There is the possibility of combining both roles for the right candidate.

The Revelstoke Paddlesport Association is a vibrant, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to building an inclusive paddling community through recreation, skill development, events, stewardship, and youth programming. From community races and kids camps to Paddle Fest and river conservation initiatives, we aim to foster a lifelong love of paddlesport in the Revelstoke area.
Permanent Part-Time, approx. 10 hours/weekStart Date: August 1, 2026
The Operations Manager supports the day-to-day administration and long-term strategic direction of the association. This flexible role is ideal for someone organized, self-motivated, and passionate about community recreation and paddling in Revelstoke.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit, and manage grant applications
- Prepare and track the RPA and Revelstoke PaddleFest annual budgets
- Lead member communications, including newsletters, social media, and stakeholder outreach
- Coordinate communications with members, partners, sponsors, and community stakeholders
- Attend board meetings and support strategic initiatives
- Assist with programming coordination and operational tasks
- Support volunteers and community engagement initiatives
- Maintain accurate financial records, including bookkeeping, expense tracking, and account reconciliation using QuickBooks
- Support monthly and annual financial reporting in collaboration with the Treasurer and Board
Required Qualifications
- Experience with grant writing and administration
- Exceptional organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience managing social media and digital communications
- Familiarity with website maintenance (Squarespace preferred)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
- Ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks, coordinate logistics, and maintain attention to detail
- Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace application
- Passion for paddlesports, outdoor recreation and community organizations.
- Hold a valid Class 5 drivers license (or equivalent).
Desired Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in a related field
- Knowledge of paddlesports across multiple disciplines, including whitewater kayaking, rafting, canoeing, and SUP
- CKC L2I1 certification
- Swiftwater Rescue Technician certification
- 40-hour wilderness or occupational first aid certification
Work Environment
This position is based in Revelstoke, BC and requires a home office. The successful candidate must provide their own laptop computer, cell phone, secure internet connection, and appropriate workspace. Candidates will be required to attend monthly in-person board meetings in Revelstoke and support programming and events as needed.
Work schedule is flexible to reflect the part-time nature of the role, averaging approximately 10 hours per week. Hours may increase during peak season leading up to Revy Paddle Fest.
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage range is $26-32 per hour depending on experience
- Day rates may apply when facilitating events
- $500 annual professional development credit
- Vacation pay: 4%
