Community Living St. Marys and Area is a dedicated, community-based agency supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live inclusive and meaningful lives. We partner with people, families, and communities to provide services that foster independence, inclusion, and well-being.
Two men living in Stratford are currently seeking someone who values teaching skills to independence and who is confident in their skills and abilities. Shifts will include every other weekend, and Wednesdays of the opposite weeks, with opportunity to pick up hours when available.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- A belief in citizenship and the value of strong relationships
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A respect for all to make their own choices
- Minimum Grade 12 or high school equivalent, with preference given to those with DSW or other applicable post-secondary education (CYW, SSW, EA)*
- A clean Vulnerable Sector Record**
- A current, valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides direct assistance and support based on the needs of the person and as directed by the support plan and/or life plan
- Supports people to achieve goals, explore community resources, and build meaningful connections
- Provides clear and unbiased guidance to support people in making informed choices
- Participates in ongoing training and reflective practices
- Completes all daily administrative duties as assigned
