0.50 FTE Program Assistant (15 hours/wk) working in the
licensed Play & Learn program at
George Davison School
Medicine Hat Public School Division is taking applications for a Program Assistant for our Licensed Play & Learn program. This is a 3-hour position and may be combined with a 3-hour Educational Assistant position for current employees. This is a ten-month position that includes competitive compensation.
The primary purpose of the Program Assistant will be to support the Primary ECE with implementing programming in the Play & Learn program for kindergarten aged children. You will be responsible to deliver programming to support the development of early literacy, early numeracy, motor skills and social emotional growth of children participating in Play & Learn during the 2026-2027 school year. Successful candidates will remain in the position ongoing if enrollment supports.
Qualifications:

Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certification

Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check less than six months old will be required prior to employment.
- Completed SIVA training, current Intermediate First Aid/CPR - preferred.

- Interpersonal skills that result in building positive relationships through effective communication.

An understanding of child development and experience working with children with diverse needs.
- Ability to understand and follow ISP's and behavior support plans.

Experience with and understanding of the Alberta Early Learning and Childcare Act and Regulations.
