We’re looking for an Operations Coordinator to keep our accounting firm running smoothly end‑to‑end. You’ll own client workflow, documentation, billing, and quality control, while continuously improving our processes and tools. This role is ideal for someone who loves turning chaos into clear, repeatable systems and is comfortable working independently in a remote, tech‑forward environment

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:
Experience
- 3+ years in public accounting, bookkeeping, accounting operations, or a related client-facing finance/admin role.
- Experience in a Canadian public accounting firm
- Proven experience managing client communications (email/phone), chasing outstanding items, and coordinating deadlines.
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Solid working knowledge of:
- Monthly bookkeeping review (AP/AR, bank & credit card reconciliations, GL basics)
- Sales tax (GST/HST/PST), source deductions, and basic corporate/personal tax support
- Monthly financial statement preparation and distribution to clients
Technology & Tools
- Advanced comfort with cloud accounting and practice tools, for example:
- Accounting: QuickBooks Online (Sage, Xero)
- Practice management / workflow: Financial Cents (Karbon, Click-up, Asana)
- Document management: Google Drive (Sharepoint, One Drive)
- Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive) at an advanced level
- Strong Excel/Sheets skills: pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas; ability to learn new software quickly
Process & Documentation
- Demonstrated ability to map, document, and improve processes (SOPs, checklists, templates)
- Experience implementing simple automations or workflow improvements (e.g., email rules, templates, basic Zapier/automation concepts) is a strong asset
Soft Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow‑through; you close loops without being reminded
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain next steps clearly to clients and team members
- Comfortable working independently, prioritizing multiple deadlines, and flagging risks early
Nice-to-Have (Assets)
- Familiarity with BC payroll/source deductions and provincial sales tax.
- Exposure to Power Query, basic SQL, or other data tools.
- Experience supporting marketing/social media or client onboarding projects
