Job Summary
DataWiz College is seeking a GPA Certified Coach to deliver the Gentle Persuasive Approaches course within the Personal Support Worker program. This program is approved by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. The selected candidate will be expected to adhere to all DataWiz College policies and procedures.
Comprehensive course materials, resources, assessments, and daily lesson plans are supplied through an Instructor Manual. The Instructor is responsible for following the provided manual and utilizing the approved instructional resources to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills needed for successful employment in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate comprehensive and accurate knowledge of the subject area.
- Deliver the curriculum using only authorized and approved instructional materials.
- Facilitate student learning through a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, presentations, demonstrations, group discussions, laboratory activities, case studies, and individual or collaborative projects.
- Apply effective adult education principles and teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population.
- Administer and grade quizzes, assignments, examinations, and other assessments in accordance with established policies and procedures to evaluate student progress.
- Assess student performance fairly, consistently, and in a timely manner, ensuring grades are returned promptly.
- Provide constructive feedback to students regarding their academic performance.
- Collect student feedback on the instructor, course content, and learning environment at the conclusion of each course.
- Demonstrate understanding and respect for the diverse needs and individual circumstances of students in a multicultural learning environment.
- Address student concerns and complaints professionally while maintaining a positive and supportive approach.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student attendance records.
- Ensure classrooms are left clean, organized, and free from damage or loss of equipment and instructional resources at the end of each class.
- Support the admissions team by assisting prospective students with questions related to the program and potential career opportunities.
- Carry out other related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
· RN or RPN in good standing with the CNO (mandatory)
· Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience
· At least two years of teaching or training experience (required)
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Familiarity with the NACC curriculum considered an asset
· Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Candidates must also meet the instructor qualification requirements outlined in the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005 and be available to teach Hybrid (online and in-person) and at the Scarborough campus as scheduled.
