After several years away we're excited to be relaunching Batch and opening our first permanent location in Toronto's Mirvish Village development. As we enter this next chapter we're looking for enthusiastic team members who are passionate about hospitality, coffee, and great food.
Join Our Opening Team
We're currently hiring full-time and part-time team members for our Fall 2026 opening.
We are hiring for a variety of roles and experience levels, including both front-of-house and production-focused positions.
As one of our first team members you'll have the opportunity to help shape the guest experience, daily operations, and culture of the bakery from day one. We're looking for people who enjoy multi-tasking, take pride in their work, and are excited to help build something special.
The Role
As a Cookie Shop & Café Team Member, you'll work across both retail and production operations. This is a hands-on role that combines customer service, coffee preparation, light baking, food preparation, and daily bakery operations.
Responsibilities
Café & Customer Experience:
- Provide warm, friendly and professional customer service
- Prepare espresso-based beverages and other café drinks
- Operate POS systems and process transactions accurately
- Package and serve cookies and other baked goods
- Maintain product displays and stock levels
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
Cookie Production:
- Portion, assemble and prepare cookie dough and bakery products
- Scale and measure ingredients accurately
- Operate mixers, ovens and other bakery equipment
- Package and label products for retail and wholesale orders
- Assist with inventory organization and receiving deliveries
- Follow recipes and production procedures effectively
General Operations:
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Wash dishes and assist with cleaning duties
- Support teammates across all areas of the business
- Help create a positive and welcoming environment for customers and staff
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous café, barista, or customer service experience
- Strong communication and hospitality skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain before starting)
Nice to Have:
- Previous bakery, kitchen, or food production experience
- Experience working with espresso equipment
- Experience in specialty coffee
- Experience working in a small business or startup environment

Position Details:
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
- Variety of weekday, evening and weekend shifts available
- Primarily hiring for late Summer and Fall 2026 start dates, with some opportunities for earlier onboarding and training
